Living in Tuscany
The Borgo
Lucignano d'Asso is an historic village in the heart of Tuscany, surrounded by hills as far as the eye can see, centuries-old olive groves, dense woods inhabited by roes, hares and pheasants. Shapes and colors of the surroundings change as the season changes, evoking the harmony seen in 14th century paintings by the Sienese school. For 600 years the village has belonged to the Piccolominis, a prominent family linked to some of Italian Renaissance main characters and defining moments. Hidden in the Sienese clay hills the village shows how the past, preserved with loving care and respect, can live in the present and serve as inspiration for the future.
